Hello everyone!
We're back with another TrainerCentral tip for you all.
In today's post, we will focus on discussion forums and how to use them effectively to foster positive interactions among learners and trainers.
Why should you enable discussion forums in your online course?
One of the biggest challenges of e-learning is maintaining a strong connection between trainers and learners. Insufficient communication could lead to a sense of isolation and cause learners to lose interest in an online course.
To resolve this issue, TrainerCentral has lesson-specific discussion forums that act as a bridge between trainers and learners. These forums enable both parties to engage in brainstorming sessions and clarify doubts related to a particular lesson.
Tips to maintain an active discussion forum
Dynamic discussion forums promote community among your learners. Here are a few tips for lively discussions:
- Post questions related to the lesson and allow your learners to answer them based on their understanding.
- Host regular Q&A sessions where your learners can ask questions and clear up any doubts. This will help them achieve a better understanding of the course concepts.
- Ask questions about real-life scenarios to help your learners apply the concepts they are learning in the course.
- Assign small tasks to your learners like researching a particular course topic, and ask them to submit their results on the discussion forum to encourage productive conversations.
- Share valuable news, articles, and external links that could be of interest to your learners.
How to enable discussion forums in your course
To enable the discussion forum in your lessons, click on your course and select Curriculum. In the curriculum section, select your lesson and click on the Enable discussion checkbox.
After enabling the discussion forum in your lessons, learners can more effectively interact with their peers, leading to better collaboration and engagement.
We hope you find these tips useful. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comments below.
