The TrainerCentral-Learner desktop app for Windows provides a secure learning environment for accessing courses, live sessions, and assessments. Depending on your academy's settings, you may be required to use the desktop app instead of a web browser to access your learning content.
This article explains how to install the TrainerCentral desktop app, sign in to your academy, and navigate the app.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
A Windows computer running a supported version of Windows
A TrainerCentral learner account
The academy URL provided by your trainer or administrator
Note: If you don't have a learner account, you'll need to sign up through your academy's website before signing in to the desktop app.Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows computer and search for TrainerCentral - Learner.
Click Get to download and install the application.
Launch the app after installation.
When you open the app for the first time:
Click Add Academy and enter your academy URL, course link, or session link.
Click Continue.
On the academy page, click Login.
Enter your learner credentials and click Sign in.
Note: Clicking Sign Up opens your academy's sign-up page in your default web browser.After signing in, you can access the following sections from the left navigation menu.
Explore Products
Browse all the courses, live sessions, and assessments available in your academy.
My Courses
View and continue the courses you're enrolled in.
My Sessions
Access your upcoming and completed live sessions.
My Assessments
View the assessments assigned to you and continue or start an assessment.
Rewards
View the rewards you've earned, if your academy has enabled the Rewards feature.
Payments
Access the following payment-related sections:
Subscriptions – View your active and past subscriptions.
Transactions – View your payment history.
Settings
Manage your learner account, including:
Profile information
Email notifications
Password
Saved payment cards
Account deletion
The TrainerCentral desktop app includes security features to help protect your learning content and maintain the integrity of assessments.
App-level restrictions
The following actions are restricted throughout the desktop app:
Taking screenshots
Recording the screen
Copying content
Cutting content
Assessment-level restrictions
The following restrictions apply only while you're taking an assessment:
Pasting content is disabled after the assessment begins. It is automatically re-enabled when the assessment ends.
Leaving the assessment window during an assessment triggers a warning.
Switching to another app or exiting full-screen mode counts as one of the two allowed instances. If this limit is exceeded, the assessment is automatically submitted.
Once the assessment ends, paste functionality is restored automatically.
The desktop app supports only a single display during assessments.
If an external monitor or additional display is detected while taking a test:
Disconnect the external display.
Return to the desktop app.
Note: Multiple displays are not permitted during assessments to ensure a secure testing environment.I can't sign in
Verify that you're using the correct academy URL.
Make sure you're signing in with the learner account associated with that academy.
Contact your trainer or academy administrator if you continue to experience issues.
The app asks me to use a single display
Disconnect any external monitor, projector, or additional display connected to your computer, then click Retry to resume your assessment.
I can't take screenshots or copy content
This is expected behavior. Security restrictions are enabled during assessments to protect the integrity of the test.
