Creating a course is one of the first steps in getting started with offering your expertise to the outside world. This help article will guide you through creating a course and setting up basic information, such as course details, branding, and adding and managing trainers.
Create a course
Once your account is set up and your school site is customized, you'll be ready to create your course and monetize your training expertise.
1. After logging in to TrainerCentral, click Create Course in the top-right corner.
2. Enter the following details in the form that pops up,
- Name: The title of your course
- Subtitle: A short catchphrase to highlight the subject and value of your course
- Description: A detailed description of what your course contains, how it will help your students, the expected learning curve, and any other value additions to explain what your course is
- Trainer: Choose the designated trainer for this course
- Categories: Choose categories or keywords for this course so it will appear in relevant search results.
3. Once you're done, click Save.
Course URL
In the Course Overview tab, you can view the course URL (from which your course can be accessed).
This URL takes you to the landing page of the course where your students can check out what this course is about, explore the trainer's background and credentials, and enroll if interested.
Course Thumbnail
The course thumbnail is a small image or logo that is used to represent your course across the school. This course thumbnail will be displayed across all your landing pages and other placeholders where this particular course is being referenced.
For the Course Thumbnail, we recommend JPG and PNG files up to a size of 150kb. The preferred resolution of the image we recommend would be 480*270.
Change Course Thumbnail
You can upload a new image by clicking on Change Image and uploading the image from your computer.
Remove Course Thumbnail
You can also remove your current Course Thumbnail by clicking Remove Image.
Course Trainers
You can add any number of trainers (based on the number of trainer licenses) to your course. Having the right trainer with stellar credentials helps you attract the right audience to enroll in your courses.
Add trainers to your course
Your course can have any number of trainers from your organization. Adding trainers with subject matter expertise and field credibility helps boost the value of your course above other similar courses from competitors.
To add a trainer, click Add Trainer and choose the trainer from your account portal.
Change Course Trainer
You can change your course instructor by clicking Change Trainer and selecting any trainer from your account portal.
Remove trainer
You can also remove a trainer from a particular course by clicking the Remove button next to the trainer's name .
