Enable multi-factor authentication to secure your learners' accounts

Hello everyone,

Are you worried about protecting your learners' accounts from identity theft and data loss? Well, we've got you covered! We now provide multi-factor authentication for their accounts.

What is multi-factor authentication?

A mere password protection is not enough to safeguard your learners' accounts. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides an additional layer of security. Adding an OTP authenticator password will reduce compromises such as data loss and other online frauds.

What is an OTP authenticator?

A one-time password (OTP) authenticator is an app that helps verify your learners' identities when they sign in to their academy accounts. It works by generating a time-based one-time password (TOTP) that your learners must enter along with their regular password.

How can it be implemented?

You must enable MFA for your learners. To learn how to do that, refer to this help article.

How does it work?

Learners must download an OTP authenticator such as Zoho OneAuth, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, or Google Authenticator.

Your learners are required to follow these two steps to authorize their accounts.

Step 1: Register their OTP-authenticator

When the learner signs into their account, they'll be taken to the enforcement page to register the app. They'll see the QR code and secret key on the screen. They can choose to scan the QR code or input the secret key manually into their app. Then the system will prompt them to enter the code generated on their authenticator app.

Step 2: Code generation during sign-in

Now, whenever your learners sign in to their account, they'll have to enter the time-based one-time password to their account along with their password.

Why is this necessary?

  • It strengthens your learners' account security while minimizing fraud.

  • Learners view your academy as reliable, which helps boost its reputation.

  • A well-secured academy attracts and retains learners who prioritize data protection.

Enforcing a multi-factor authentication in your academy isnt just a security measure, it’s another way to build trust and enhance your learners' confidence.
